Riding My Icelandic Horse Mare, Bareback and Bridleless

This is my Icelandic Horse mare, Slaeda ("scarf") called Cookie by the barn rats. She is six years old and just started under saddle last year. Cookie is a pleasure horse, trail riding mostly.

She has been trained with natural horsemanship methods such as Parelli Natural Horsemanship, John Lyons (Give to the Bit, Perfect Horse, Ground Control, etc), Mark Rashid, Bill Dorrance (True Horsemanship Thru Feel) and operant conditioning. Operant conditioning means that we bridge with clicker training.

One of the most important things this helps to accomplish is to get the horse's mind with you.

Our goal in this type of training is to have the horse be soft, flexible, willing, and to have a good partnership.
